Jennifer Green is originally from St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. She graduated with a BFA in Art History and Sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2016. In 2021 she earned her MSc from the University of Amsterdam where she studied the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, specialising in glass and ceramics. She has also completed a post-baccalaureate in conservation at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and has taken two years of general and organic chemistry courses from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Her master’s thesis focused on the use of modern commercial adhesives by artists and developed a diagnostic tool for discerning artist’s intent. Following the completion of her masters in 2021, she completed the two-year Advanced Professional Programme in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Amsterdam in 2023. During this programme she researched the chemical susceptibility of a 17th century Hispano-Moresque lustre and also completed internships at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo and a private company Restauratieatelier Overhoff in Amsterdam. Jennifer is the owner of Restauratieatelier Green where she works as a freelance conservator for museums and other institutions as well as with private clients.
